turns out we're at the bottom of the okanagan valley so we drive through all these lush towns with vineyards and orchards.
in oliver, we see a cliff that's supposed to look like an indian chief (but doesn't really). in OK falls we stop at a flea market and buy pepper some sandals, and in summerland we visit the ornamental gardens

we would have taken an old fashioned steam train but the scheduled times weren't convenient - but this was the trestle bridge we would have gone across  (and this way, we admire it for free)

in peachland, we go cherry picking at an orchard that has the world's tallest ladder

in kelowna, we hit the beach and park, and get some super-delicious ice cream at shop that comes highly recommended (oh, moo-lix, please open here!)

we intend to sleep in merritt but are disgusted with the seedy town, the stripped logs stacked everywhere (logging town) so shuttle down the highway to hope (shuttle is right - this road only connects these 2 towns, there is nothing in between, just a few turnarounds in case you've forgotten something - like gas. i meant it when i said there was nothing)

we are infinitely pleased with hope - have a great meal at a local restaurant, enjoy the wood carvings all over town, and the motel (no hotels in this town - too small) even has a heated pool
we like hope so much, when we see a real estate listing the next morning, we seriously talk about moving here

and yes, that's what you think it is - or at least that's the effect rob is wanting you to get...
