we have dinner at the hostel and then get on the jasper tram - it brings you all the way up to the whistlers (note the plural, this is not whistler, bc the singular)

here we pass the other tram

it's a nice view at the top....

...but...

...it's not the actual top and it's a hard slog up the rest of the mountain

the mountain range stretches quite wide, so we arbitrarily decide this boulder at the top is the highest point because, among other thing, this place is crawling with mutant mosquitoes!  and what the heck are they eating anyhow?  this place is all rock
